I became a New York State licensed psychologist (license #022050) to fulfill my lifelong dream of capturing and validating the experiences of others. Even as a child, I felt that society had a way of negating and concealing what people truly felt. And so, to make a difference, I chose to help people to share their narratives.
Throughout my career, I have had the honor of working with people of different ages, ethnic and religious backgrounds, socio-economic status, and sexual orientations across a variety of settings, including schools, hospitals, child welfare agencies, and community clinics. I earned a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) degree in School-Clinical Child Psychology and a Master of Science in Education (MSEd) degree in School Psychology, with a bilingual extension in Russian, from Pace University. My internship was at the Institute for Infant and Preschool Mental Health at the Youth Consultation Service (YCS) and my postdoctoral training at New Alternatives for Children (NAC). Most recently, I was the Clinical Manager of Trauma Services at the Brooklyn branch of the Group Attachment Based Intervention (GABI) program at Montefiore Medical Center.
In matters of the heart, you are your own expert. As author A. A. Milne wrote, "you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think." That is why I tailor my approach to the individuals that I meet, and their presenting struggles and circumstances, with compassion, creativity, and sincerity. I am well-versed in several therapeutic approaches and modalities, specializing in dyadic therapy with parents and their young children (birth to age three), parent therapy, and parent consultations.
My hope for those that contact me is that their lives become more aligned with the vision that they had for themselves, and my passion is in supporting them to get to that point.
